If you are needing convincing on the merits of booking a holiday in the beautiful northern end of our state (we’re looking at you Cairns), then take this as your sign to do so.
There are $200 worth of reasons why you need to book your Cairns holiday. In case you missed it, our esteemed Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced the launch of the Queensland government’s travel voucher scheme. North Queensland, an area that has been hit the hardest by the overseas traveller ban, is the first chosen local region to participate
To support the local region, the government will be handing out 15,000 vouchers up to $200 to Queenslanders who book eligible tourism experiences in Tropical North Queensland. Winners will be chosen via lottery. Yep – just like the Hunger Games, but you know, fun and the only danger around choosing what to spend your “Cairn’s dollars” on.
What will you do on your NQ holiday? Eligible tourism experiences include trips to the Great Barrier Reef, guided tours around the region, adventure experiences like bungy jumping, day spa experiences, scenic flights and entry to wildlife parks, zoos and aquariums… there’s clearly no shortage of fun things to do!
Here’s what you need to know right now to qualify and use a voucher:
- Queenslanders can register their details to enter on www.queensland.com from 12pm (AEST) 8 March – 12pm (AEST) 11 March 2021.
- Successful recipients will be notified by email and SMS on 15 March and can use their voucher to book tourism experiences from 12pm (AEST) 15 March – midnight (AEST) on 25 June 2021.
